Valentine Candle Vignette

I’m a day late, well 3 if you count the weekend.  Last weekend I shared a post of my Valentine Mantel.  In that post I told you I would share a bit more about the candles and white wood stand on Friday.  Thursday and Friday tuned out to be wild and crazy days at work and time ran out.  But I’m sharing today…Yay!

I wanted to talk about this…

022-1

In particular, the white scrolled piece of wood and the candles sitting on it.

Apologies for the glare.  Let me get a little closer for you.

024-1

I’m in love with this little vignette.  So soft, so valentiney, so pink!  and so cheap!!  The vases came from the Dollar store, as did the pink and white rocks and the pink candles.  Here’s the story on the shelf.  In the picture below it’s hanging on the right wall.  Then, the most horrible thing happened.  It fell off the well, simply put, crashed and burned never to be a shelf again.

But I kept the pieces…

and once again, I used a piece of it for a candle holder and love, love, love it!

I also used one of the small shelf pieces to make a sign.  I was farting around so it’s not very good but I had fun.  You can’t tell by the picture but I sponged painted the board pink.

017-1

The moral of this story is everything has more than one use and don’t just automatically throw something out.  Think out of the box.

  1. That’s so cute… and I know exactly what you mean about things getting crazy at work. Also, I didn’t like my original blog name; so I created a different one called “Simple Restyle”…

  2. I found you on Tip Junkie. Would you please share this with my readers for our Fun Stuff Fridays Valentine’s Linky Party? I think it would be a great fit. http://www.toysinthedryer.com/2012/02/14-days-of-valentines-fun-stuff-fridays.html
